Ogaal Party
Ogaal Party was founded in Mogadishu in 2026 by scholars and community leaders who studied Somalia’s challenges in depth and developed practical pathways for overcoming them.
Ogaal seeks to lead Somalia toward comprehensive change so that Somali citizens can enjoy justice, security, livelihoods, economic growth, good governance, and their full citizenship rights.
Ogaal was also founded to give the Somali people—especially young people—a lawful platform through which they can pursue their immediate and long-term aspirations.

Leader
Hon. Abdulkareem Hassan Jama
Abdulkareem Hassan Jama is a Somali politician and scholar with extensive experience in politics and state-building.
He leads Ogaal Party, a political movement committed to comprehensive change in Somalia so that Somali citizens can attain justice, security, livelihoods, economic growth, good governance, and their full citizenship rights.
Ogaal proposes governance grounded in knowledge, research, and reliable evidence. Abdulkareem is also a candidate in Somalia’s 2026 presidential election.
Before formally entering party politics, Abdulkareem Hassan Jama held important positions in the Federal Government, the private sector, higher education, and research institutions.
Abdulkareem served as Somalia’s Minister of Information, Posts and Telecommunications. He was Director General of the Presidency and Senior Adviser to the President, playing an important role in rebuilding state institutions and guiding Somalia beyond the transitional period.
He is a co-founder of Somalia’s leading policy research institute and served for many years as chair of its governing council. He also co-founded City University of Mogadishu and held senior leadership responsibilities there for an extended period.
Abdulkareem Hassan Jama’s political vision emphasizes national unity founded on genuine reconciliation, a broadly supported constitution, and an inclusive federal system. He strongly believes in citizen rights, fighting corruption, the rule of law, expanding economic opportunity, empowering citizens, and building effective public institutions.
Abdulkareem was among those who began advocating for Somalia’s membership in the East African Community in 2010. He believes Somalia’s future depends on using its strategic geography, the dynamism of Somali entrepreneurs, and stronger economic links across the region, the continent, and global trade networks.
